1930: The first FIFA World Cup kicked off in Uruguay on July 13. FIFA World Cup is the most important competition in international football. It is Organised by Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).

1942: American actor Harrison Ford was born in Chicago on July 13. Between 1977 and 1983, he appeared in what were then four of the top ten highest-grossing movies ever. In most of his roles, Ford plays a tough, wise-cracking action hero, and is well known for his repeated performances as the character Han Solo of the Star Wars films, and Indiana Jones of Raiders of the Lost Ark and its sequels.
