It’s official — after announcing their engagement in June 2005, and becoming parents in April this year, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes will be getting married on November 18. The ‘Mission Impossible’ star’s spokesperson, Arnold Robinson, confirmed rumours that the couple was tying the knot(1) soon and that they would be doing so in Italy. Robinson also told Associated Press that the former ‘Dawson’s Creek’ actress would be wearing a dress designed by Giorgio Armani. Reports surfaced(2) last week that the celebrity couple would be getting married at George Clooney’s villa(3) on Lake Como, although the ‘Ocean’s 11’ star laughed off(4) the rumours at the time. At this date the venue(5) of the Cruise-Holmes wedding is still unknown. Guests were notified of the location and date last week. At the beginning of October, Holmes was spotted(6) in Italy after a quick shopping trip in Paris where she reportedly chose her wedding dress. Last week the 27-year-old actress flew back to Milan for a fitting at Armani’s headquarters. Cruise and Holmes have a long relationship with Armani who designed their outfits for their international promotional tours for ‘Batman Begins’ and ‘Mission Impossible III’. Italy itself also played an important role in the relationship between Holmes and the 44-year-old superstar. Their first public outing, where Cruise told reporters: "She is an extraordinary woman", was on April 29 at the David di Donatello Awards in Milan. The pair announced their engagement two months later after Cruise proposed on top of Paris’s Eiffel Tower. They welcomed their first child, Suri, into the world on April 18 of this year. The first pictures of the baby girl were published in last month’s edition of Vanity Fair.
