Luxury Brands Win Trademark Lawsuit
Five major luxury brands, Prada, Channel, Louis Vuitt
on, Gucci and Burberry have succeeded in safeguarding their trademark rights in a lawsuit against the Beijing-based Silk Street Market.
The final ruling required the market to compensate 20,000 Yuan, or about 2,500 U.S. dollars, to each company for trademark rights infringement.
Wang Yadong, legal counsel for the five brand owners said his clients are satisfied with the final judgment.
“The ruling shows the government’s determination to protect the intellectual property rights.”
The Beijing High People’s Court upheld a previous ruling by the Beijing NO. 2 Intermediate People’s Court last December, that sided with the claims of the five brands.
讲解部分：
1---Be succeeded in指在某事上取得成功，那这个in后面一定要加doing, 或者加名词，有一句谚语就是，If at first you don’t succeeded, try, try again.
Succeed还有另外一个意思就是继任， Who succeeded Churchill after as Prime Minister?谁将继丘吉尔出任首相？come next after sb/ sth.
2--- compensate 的意思是补偿，赔偿give sth good to balance or lessen the bad effect of damage, loss, injury等等。She was compensated by the insurance company for her injury.
形容词的形式就是compensatory.,加 ory,形容词的后缀。名词就是compensation.
3--- be satisfied with 就是满意于的意思，可以一举个例子，I feel really satisfied after this big big meal.我对这顿大餐感觉非常满意。
其实，这个满意，也可以有反意的效果，有的时候给人感觉很讽刺就是ironic,例如，look, you’ve broken my watch,. Now you are satisfied? 看吧，把表弄坏你就满意了吧。
形容词就是satisfying,副词直接加ly.
4---judgment审判，后面加of, about sth . In my judgment, your plan is ill conceived.依我的判断，你的计划考虑不周
错误的判断就是an error judgement, 那这个judgment day可不是审判日，在whitney Huston的歌My love is your love 里面，其实意思就是“世界末日”。
它的动词原形是judge.
5--- intellectual property rights知识产权的权益，这个词作为了解就好了，在新闻中经常出现。
