Five miners were killed when an explosion ripped through a coal mine in eastern Kentucky. A 6th worker was able to escape the (1)blast 爆炸 without serious injury. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

In New Orleans, voters are choosing a leader to oversee the rebuilding of their hurricane-ravaged city.
